Union Market, DC Engagement // Tina + TJ

Tina and TJ! I first met them at Tina’s sister’s wedding (SEE IT HERE), and soon after they got engaged they asked me to be their photographer too! As a photographer, there’s something tremendously special when you get to be a repeat photographer for the same family, getting to create even more special memories with them! I’m forever grateful for the connections I’ve built with this sweet family!

Tina and TJ came up from NYC to have their engagement documented. Looking at these photos, I can remember all the emotions associated with this day. The weather, like usual in DC, was being bipolar with rain on the radar one minute and sunshine the next. Luckily, we shot the whole session without a drop of rain! We ran around Union Market, exploring inside the busy market, stopping for beers from the vendors outside, and seeing the murals. They’re casual, sometimes timid in front of the camera, and very goofy—which I love. But like all my couples sessions, I reminded them how this time was about them and not me at all, it’s a special time to remember how they met and all the memories that brought them to this commitment they’re about to make. Needless to say, this session was a blast! So creative and fun. Now seeing the photos together like this in a storytelling format, I’m so glad they made the time to come to DC to have their engagement documented! See it here for yourself!
