Nicole and Will | Intimate Bohemian Engagement Session Vibes

This session included so many of my favorite things: a dog, sooooo many plants, boho-inspired design (it was like walking into a Domino book), coffee and croissant, and my ideal couple-sweet, fun, a little crazy, and love a good time!

Also, at-Home sessions are quickly becoming my favorite kind of sessions for several reasons:

Reason #1: It's been raining nonstop in the DMV lately, so instead of rescheduling a bunch of engagement sessions, my couples have been so welcoming to the idea of getting cozy in the comfort of their home while I document them in their natural state.

Reason #2: There is nothing like documenting your home in such a special season of your life. Whether you're in a small apartment in DC or you've just bought a house, there will most likely be a lot more moves in your life so it's nice to be able to look back at these photos of you and your love in your home before you got married.

Reason #3: At-home sessions are synonymous with words like "comfort" "cozy" "being yourself" (specially if you're a home body). There's no need to be so concerned about being the center of attention in public while onlookers wonder why there's someone following you around with a camera :). Unless you're like my husband and love being the center of attention, the struggle of being the youngest child haha.

Reason #4: You can be so creative with a session at home. If your thing is making pancakes for dinner, breaking open a couple of beers on your front porch, snuggling in bed while you listen to the rain, or running around chasing your four-legged human then those are the moments that make these sessions so uniquely beautiful. Basically, I document you doing your normal day-to-day activities, and that's timeless.

I really enjoyed this session with Nicole, Will, and their pup Ramona. As soon as I walked through their front door I could smell fresh coffee brewing, the Beatles was playing softly in the background on their record player, and Ramona greeted me with so much excitement. It's as if she knew that it was family picture day.
